“I have learned that there are some battles that aren’t worth fighting even if you win; and there are other battles that must be fought even if you lose. But, I don’t like to lose. And so I pick my fights carefully, because while I can do anything, I can not do everything.”
Travis Smiley
Such an inspirational quote - came across it while researching for the essay topic. Well, what can I say, it's been one busy christmas bee week with many moments out of the house, incurring the wraths of my parents. Haha. Last week's KL trip was goodgood, I think I walked a HELL lot but at least it hopefully burned away the excess calories consumed from eating out. Food was good -managed to try the Starbucks' Christmas Nut Latte, Orange Julius drinks, roadside hawker seafood, Mata Kuching. The guys watched the new movie The Day The Earth Stood Still while the girls went shopping, because they were getting bored. Sheesh. Oh and for once, I got an EVEN tan at the pool. Trip was okay la overall, didn't really buy much except stuff for CA and class gathering. And when I finally reached home on Thu night after the call taxi incident, I realised I miss job training for Smiles! ): MAN, but at least I woke up late on Friday.
Friday was CA gathering! In the morning went to apply for banquet waitressing with Carmen and ML but no more vacancy I VEH SAD. So came back home, showered and sent out email replies before going back to City Hall AGAIN and uh, quite late also. SORRY! Haha the incoming calls were CRAZY. First Nadine called while I was ironing to say that she was gna be late, then James said he was late (by a few seconds LOL), then Majella called me a beetch cos I wasn't on the train yet, and Mama texted to say I was "not early", before Shan called. Argh! Haha. Oh but in the end, we still effectively met up at 6plus cos Audrey and Shan came after work. And we ate at Soup Spoon just to spite Majella! Haha. Then went to catch the Agapella performance (An Upbeat Christmas) at the Esplanade who were this Christian group or working adults from various churches! How cool is that! And they were really awesome, James went to get the CD too. Then we took loads of crazy videos before coming back home.
Saturday was Mustard Seed -AGM for electing commitee 2009 and tokens of appreciation for the current memberzxz. I injured my finger HAHA NOOB from assembling the photo frames and after that I started typing funny on my keypad on MSN.
Monday, after Marina Square I had to CHIONG back to church cos Cheryl was waiting to do the Christmas video with Sarah. Then went back home to change to cycling clothes and met them at the VERY HARD TO FIND COFFEESHOP (they made me get lost in my own neighbourhood!) and had chicky rice before we cabbed down to ECP. Sarah, Michael, Mark and I. And the guys were being idiots and trying to scare me by sandwiching me between their bicycles and swerving suddenly in front of me with their smug faces. Beeetches. Sarah was more interested in camwhoring HAHA. After which we went to Ice Cream Chef! (: Nice ambience and the ice cream is quite good as well. Then turned up late for Carolling with the church peeps at the first house in Toa Payoh, asked alot of people along the way for directions because I how blur. I thought carolling was a good experience, because they are all a friendly bunch and really hospitable company even though I don't really know them, and the songs were great too!
Tuesday was Pepe's birthday! Happy 18th dear (: Sorry I couldn't make it down, but I'm sure you had a great time at Soup Spoon and the presents all. I went for CLASS GATHERING today at Deborah's place! Turned out we were all late HAHA, we were supposed to meet at 630 but effectively only went to her place around 8. Awesome house! So we just ate the really yummy food, and watched Little Nyonya on Channel 8 while waiting for the last visitor. And played Secret Santa omg I think mine is an absoulute godsend, been needing a diary cum notebook and the one I got looks perfect!
Merry Christmas to everyone -celebrate it in the good company of friends and family, spread the goodwill and have a wonderful festive season (:
