I feel exceptionally blessed for having such a circle of amazing colleagues, classmates and councilmates. Even though this week was terribly hell for being in and out of a fever that refuses to subside, thanks guys for the texts and messages. And I really needa be more careful with my hp. I get a missed call now and most of the time it's someone I don't know.
Peak period was horror of horrors! The phone was perpetually AD and to those who think having a desk bound job for office hours sounds slack, you better beg to differ. Talking to people for 7.5 hours a day is no joke, seeing as how you don't know anyone of them. Despite this and my scratchy throat, I guess one fulfilling thing is when they thank you profusely for adhering to their requests or when they launch indifferently about their own personal lives. Each phone call I get is a tiny glimpse into another world somewhere in this sunny island, or even overseas in seamy Shanghai, or wild Africa, or busy New York - I think it's particularly amusing when the bulk of them are housewives who politely tell me to hold while they holler at their children to start the comp/shut up/put that away.
This week is a bit saddening, because my lunchmate Aru is resigning in search of greener pastures, now I have nobody to eat lunch in the pantry with ): Well, I hope I can get another job soon because I prefer a change while I can.
As for my social life, this weekend was an anomaly because I got to meetupmeetups! The talk at the campus was quite interesting, met up with Ellice and bumped into other CJCians as well. And the bus driver was obviously an ex F1 racer, judging by the way he rode his double decker - one would have just flown off if we weren't holding on tightly, he accerelated through all the speed stripes, skipped busstops and overtook another bus! Reached the MRT in record time.
Then it was off to meet my beloved classmates for late lunch/early dinner at Fish and Co at PS. Somehow I seem to be getting acquainted with this place fairly often. Catch up was great! And so was walking around Carrefour listening to HW's theatric stories. I bought ice cream for the family! Unique flavour rather.
I am also reading The Love Secrets of Don Juan, which is really hilarious because it's the personal insight of a man who is terribly unlucky in his love life.
And yes yes Marie, we must meet up soon! Maybe a nice CA gathering also - sounds like a plan heh.
Now the green blade riseth

Happy Easter and Happy Parish Feast Day! (:
I simply love Easter because it reminds me of spring and daffodils, and fluffy bunnies with chocolate eggs. Holy week was great, albeit the many temptations I DID NOT BUY MILK TEA! :D Monday was lovely, dinner with my beloved T11 classmates after work, walked through the Malcolm lane from Novena to SJI. Nice exercise and pretty peaceful walk, being in contact with Nature just lifts one's spirits. And I was the first one to arrive haha. KARMA IS BAD. This is so cliche, but it was just so good to see all these familiar faces whom I've been seeing every morning for the past 2 years, and it's nice to know some things haven't changed.
Wednesday was great as well, met dearest Majella for my lunch break and I got to try the rice ball/burger thingamajig which was surprisingly not as filling as my colleagues said it was. I had that, plus shared Yami Yoghurt, plus I drank Milo, and I was still hungry ): I think having a desk job and bumming around for 8 hours does things to your tummy.
Thursday was paydaypayday for tuition! So happy haha, even though I had the annoying headache which forced me to take half day. Maundy service was great, arrived just in time and thank God for Eunice who gladly offered me a seat.
Friday was a good bumming around Good Friday - I reflected about alot of things, kept to my abstaining and watched Pollathavan yay haha (the one which I missed last Deepavali because I was mugging my ass out for the As)
Saturday was the highlight of the week yo - met up with Salim to catch The Importance of Being Earnest, which I arrived ON TIME even though I was working half day and had to cab there resulting in a very extorbitant fare (ERP BASKET). THE PLAY WAS HILARIOUS! I was a bit apprehensive because of the all-male cast, but the lines were delivered with enjoyable wit and a smug British accent with political incorrectness. Sadly, Oscar Wilde was on loan at the Central Library so couldn't borrow. We ate at Soup Spoon! Then walked around aimlessly for awhile before he went home - so I went to indulge in some dearly missed window shopping! And I bumped into all my dearies - Ade texted to say she saw me, I saw Pepe, AND FISHY AND GERMS! (: In the end, I didn't get the top I was telling my mom about, instead I bought the mushroom soup takeaway home.
I am very sad because the boys are selling their soul to the army HAHA, and I'm losing contact with so many of them.
No No, I don't pay!

The Great Surprise is finally over, thanks to efficient planning from the Organised One known as Candee, with some help thereabouts from the Company.
HAPPY 19th BIRTHDAY KOH YOU PAY! AHAHA.
Even though the perils were great and the odds were stacked against us, we braved many a dark and stormy night (read: peanuts)... okay la, kidding we did none of that but here's what happened as a prelude to the event:
1) Jelly was made to ask her out because "he was enlisting" and then had to backtrack because the Botanic plan too extravagant.
2) I bluffed her into getting her mother's number to ask for permission. HAHA
3) Candee extorted a list of "nice and jumpy songs" for us to scan through to help us for the song dedication
4) Created a facebook event inviting only the YJ peeps so that the CJ peeps were a complete shocker/surprise.
The Grand Plan Today
It was extremely annoying to plan a surprise gathering for a Ger who was irritatingly punctual for all meet ups - so after I met Candee outside The Glass House with her friends, I called Clara and Lynn to ensure they did not accidently bump into her. Of course, Fishy being the stupid girl she is, decided to come way early to PS, so Candee freaked and called the Other Friends to delay her. Success! We managed to go to the second level, secure our seats, write the card and settle down before she finally came at 720.
Her reaction was hilarious! HAHA. She was like, EHHH WHAT U DOING HERE OMG. In the usual gangster way. So of course we replied that the meeting was purely coincidental. And then I had to BLUFF her that I was going to the toilet (she was totally suspiscious because Candee kept whispering to me) so that I could go down and make a request for a song dedication.
Company was great today! And the baked ginza salmon was mmmmm nigella lawson worthy! I should opt for non fried food outside next time so I can savour every bit without the overpowering batter.
Song dedication oh my gosh funny, because they weren't sure whether the person was a girl and they pronounced her name for like a few hundred times before they played. Then of course she was given the sparkler and the usual Fish and Co birthday song with the cake and all.
Now we have to wait for the little princess to "format her laptop" before she uploads the photos. Stupid. HAHA.
THANKS CANDEE FOR ORGANISING! U SHOULD GO JOIN COUNCIL AH, GOT ITINERY ALL CAN. AND MISS KOH AH, HOPE U AREN'T TOO SHOCKED BY OUR PRESENCE TODAY HAHA. NOW GET WELL.
the curious incident of the heels in the day time

10:55 PM
Because I am such an emo piece of shitake, and keep blogging about sentimental outbursts about my sad and pathetic life, I will try to uplift the spirits of my avid FanClub (I like to pretend I have one) with a totally embarrasing incident last Friday at work.
It started out innocently enough, with my wearing a pair of my very retro heels to work, the one that I technically bought for Sec 4 Graduation Eras Ago. BAD IDEA. When I got off the train, the right side of the heels came out. Think Unglam. Fashion Disaster. So I had to hobble all the way to work. As if that wasn't already bad enough, I was running a few minutes late as usual and I had to walk on parquet flooring. SO. What the other permanent staff heard was a very confused sounding,
Shuffle shuffle KERPLONK Shuffle Shuffle KERPLONK.
So I sat down and had to explain to the collagues around me, why I was walking like a deboned chicken. PLUS, I had to ask the supervisor for superglue and spent my morning trying to salvage my heels. It was intially okay after I had clammmed my weight on it for the morning period, and I could walk properly when I went to buy lunch with Aru.
BUT THEN GUESS WHAT. On the way back, the OTHER side of the heels came out. I wanted to bury myself and die. Haha. So I had to do my best America's Not Top Model, walk back to the office and broke both the heels.
BUT BECAUSE GOD LIKES TO TEST PEOPLE, the front of my flats came out during the course of the day, misshapping the shoes so badly that I couldn't wear it anymore.
In the end, I had to take a bus back home barefoot and I really think that the commutors thought I had escaped from the asylum or something. Of course they stopped staring after I gave them my best fiercest look.
Bottomline: I am not cut out for heels. I'm sticking to my best friends the flats and the slipper for now.
