When I attended Fuel last Friday, someone mentioned how his encounters were God were often people-related and that made alot sense to me. You see, an old friend asked me how has God helped you in the past 2 years (or something along that lines) and I simply said,
"Well, when I came to CJ, of course." (:
So yes, it's been a pretty people-related week for me: Michelle makes an awesome colleague and proves entertainment for the lunches 5 days in a row, Boss is nice and friendly treats you like an equal, and of course not forgetting the highlight of the week which was LAST NIGHT (:
The Prelude to the Plan
I must say kudos to Carmen and Meiling for planning this right down to the minute details, dejavu of council experiences - locationlocationlocation, getting the people, howtosurpriseFrippiat, cake, and most importantly timing.
OH YES MARIE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO CELEBRATE YOUR BDAY TOO BUT YOU DIDN'T COME IN THE END ):
So this was how it went:
1) Met Carmen at 645, Dhoby, to pass her the card. Asked her where the tian Timbre was. Finalised last minute details.
2) Rushed over to Orchard, 710, to meet Frippiat where I was doing my "last minute book hunting"
3) We met at two different locations because sms breakdown. Haha. So walked from Wheelock to MRT 7 eleven. Walked around Wisma. Sale sale sale! ^_^
4) We decide, on a romantic moonlit walk from Orchard to Dhoby. Caught up alot. But bad idea because we were super tired by Somerset.
5) Trained to Dhoby. We were now horribly late, and Fripp had the impression that Carmen ended dance class late haha.
6) Freaking 300 steps up Mount Sophia! No wonder MGS girls are so slim. The time is now 8.
7) Meet Carmen outside Timbre, we walk in, Fri is oblivious
8) 18 people meet her to say "SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRIPPIAT!"
Grin.
The place was great, nice laidback ambience, can't say much about the service of the staff - asked for water thrice but only got the bill in return (they are prompt in that) and live music was superb too! Fripps and I shared - Italian pizza and our Margaritas! (: Then she suffered a public humiliation when the cake arrived and she had to go on stage. And we randomly asked Bob to carry it for her, and I think the lady singer mistook it and of COURSE we just had to sabo, saying
"They were childhood sweethearts!" Hahaha.
So hung around and chattered, usual exchanges of So Which Uni You Going Ah? Then camwhored (initiated by Maj who else) before we left the place. Trained back home with C and ML.
It turned out pretty well I must say - no inkling that she was even for it. Sigh, I will miss the dearie in September. So Marie and Frippiat, hope your birthdays are spectaculary nice and naughty -19!
Renovation starts tomorrow. I am not looking forward to it. Grit my teeth for 10 days.
