Analyzing the Morning Crowd: a guide to understanding people, by Jocelyn.
8am
These are the kiasu nanas. Either that or they start work at 8am. Their hair is immaculately done, shirts well pressed and tucked in neatly. Nothing will fluster them because they are very, ahead of schedule. Attributes include queuing up patiently for Today paper, and buying toast and coffee.
830am
If you have never known what it's like to witness and be in a morning rush. try boarding the train at this time. People shove and push for space - yes Singapore is that land competitive we don't even have standing room in our MRTs. Adrenaline junkies at heart, there is a great deal of commotion in taking giant strides in heels (wince) and rushing to be at your desk before your boss. The 830 crowd is well trained for any sort of marathons, speed and stamina are key.
9am
By this time, the previous crowd would already have sublimated (if there's such a word) leaving us with tada - the serial offenders. These people are late and boy, are they proud of it. Totally indifferent to the ticking clocks, they stroll and saunter across walkways completely aware they are unearly and so what.
Okay, so I was late today for the first time in 3 weeks because, I was cooking my lunch in the morning. I'm very proud of my pasta cooked in tomato and chicken broth! (: It seems heavenly although I wish I had more time to puree my blend, so that the tomatoes had a better consistency. Sigh, I had to use Asian tomatoes. I'm going to add in parsley and basil next time.
Work has been exceptionally slack it's making me cringe in boredom - I wish I could get started on the other event which sounds way cooler and would obviously garner a better response.
Renovation is starting next week and it is going to greatly inconvenience me because I have to get up earlier just to shower before the water supply is cut. Basket. Grandma's house is even further away from work. Oh well.
Is anybody going for any camps!
